Oliver McGowan Co-Trainer (Lived Experience)

Do you have a Learning Disability? Are you Autistic?

​

If so, would you like to be part of a team that will be training people from the Health & Social Care sector on your experience in accessing services to improve the quality of care services for others?

​

We are looking for people with lived experience to join us as a co-trainer in delivering the Oliver McGowan training to care organisations, GP's hospitals and others.

​

You will be joined by a training facilitator who will support you in sharing your experiences and in the training of the Oliver McGowan syllabus.

​

Full training will be provided for you to become a "Oliver McGowan approved Trainer".

 

You will be paid for your time delivering the training, this will be equivalent to a Band 5 NHS or £14.53 per hour.

​

This is a 0 hour position where you can pick and choose the courses you are willing to train, courses may vary from 3 hours a day to 1 whole day. 

​

Annual leave and other benefits will be calculated depending on the hours you work.

​

Duties
- Stand in front of a group of up to 30 people to talk to others

- Support with the delivery of the Oliver McGowan Training

- Train others from various locations across Somerset & Dorset (This will be discussed and Agreed)

​

Experience
- Have a diagnosis or identify as having a Learning Disability or Autistic

- Confidence in speaking with others

​

Not essential but it would be helpful if you are:

- Be an approved Oliver McGowan Trainer

- Experience in speaking and training others

- Experience working within Health & Social Care
