Service Description

This Epilepsy and Buccal Medication course will give the attendee in depth knowledge on Epilepsy, the effects of seizures and how to administer emergency Buccal Midazolam Medication to a person that is having a prolonged seizure. We utilise training devices and the attendees will get hands on experience in “administering” water to each other via the buccal cavity. This course covers a range of subjects including:- • What is Epilepsy • What is Seizures • Types of Seizures • Myth Busting • Diagnosis of Epilepsy • Treatment Options • Risk Assessing & Care Planning • How to support someone experiencing a Seizure • The affect on peoples lifestyle • Status Epilepctis • Prolonged Seizures • Risk of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) • Anti-epileptic drugs • Administration of Buccal “Emergency Rescue” Medication Time: 4 Hours Please select a date that you would prefer to have (this can be changed after) All bookings are subject to confirmation.
