What is Mandatory Training for my Staff? We suggest using Skills for Care Statutory and mandatory training framework to measure training requirements for your service. This will help you with a guide of what training you may require for your service. However much of training outside of this is up to the organisation to determine what is reasonable for colleagues to be trained in. You can speak with us to explore your training requirements and how we can support you.

What can be online training and what needs to be face to face training? Our first statement to this is practical skills cannot be taught online. We often feel that a blended approach to training works best a combination of eLearning and face to face works best. Of course as professional trainers we love face to face training as we can measure engagement and learning as we are training however the accessibility of eLearning is unmatched. Also some eLearning platforms allows translation for care staff that English is not their first Language. Ultimately utilising the Skills for Care Statutory and mandatory training is a great benchmark, it is up to the organisation to determine what is reasonable to have as eLearning and what is face to face, however the organisation must be able to justify the rationale behind it. If you fail to invest in good quality training you will be throwing more money at turnover of staff and potentially responding to incidents rather than preventing them. If you are having the same problem with medication for example, coming up time and time again, perhaps its time to review the content and delivery of your training.
